Welcome! Come in and enjoy "VCR Privileges". A concept that has fallen away in modern times, this was the promise of control of the family VCR to watch whatever movie YOU wanted. And it was one of the best parts of lazy summer days.

After a long, hard day of hanging out in any pool you could get access to or lying motionless under a ceiling fan until yelled at for being in the middle of the room, nothing beat being able to push a tape into the VCR and settling down on the pull-out sofa for a night of escapism.

Back when everyone had their shelf of video tapes, you often ended up watching the same movies over and over again. If you rented a movie, you just *had* to watch it multiple times (to, you know, get your money's worth). It really primed our generation to become movie obsessives.

Every summer the podcast "VCR Privileges" will take you back to this world as we deep dive into a film that we were captivated by as kids. Interviews, field trips, new friends and old will all be featured.
